A little bit about me: I'm 20 years old and am a rising university junior studying English, Theology, and Environmental Studies in Washington, DC. I also love playing clarinet and tenor saxophone, which I do in my school's pep band, and I'm also part of the debate society at school. Outside of school, I'm also a huge Disney and space nerd, so I'm basically addicted to anything and everything Disney and NASA related. As for Michael, I found him really late compared to most (if you're curious, feel free to ask me), but I can say without a doubt that it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Becoming a fan/follower of his has changed me in so many ways. I of course love his music and his dance, but more than that, I love the person that he was, and the soul that he is. If only there was a degree in Michael, I'd ace it summa cum laude! It's my hope that the fan family can continue his legacy and keep on making him proud, and that's one of the reasons I decided to take on a leadership role within MJSUN - I wanted to be a bigger part of that legacy preservation/expansion.
If you need anything ,or if you just want to chat, feel free to shoot me a message or an email!
~Michelle (I'm the girl in the fedora and aviators!)

Setting: 80's- 2000's (With flashbacks to the 70's)
Genre: Drama, Family, Sorrow, Mystery, Romance
Summery: Being the daughter of one of the biggest entertainers in the world isn't all that great. Paz has to deal with getting attention from her own father, and growing up in his spotlight. She has to watch him face the world, along with the women that come into his life. Also the surprises she comes to face with.
Some people think being the kid of someone famous means you get to live a fabulous life! You get to travel the world and see many beautiful sights. You get to eat in fancy restaurants. That everyday you meet some other celebrity. That you get to wear the most expensive clothing and shop in the biggest malls all over the world.
The only famous people I have met are the people my dad comes in contact with, and if I’m lucky it’s only for a minute or two, cause I am dragged away from them by my father. He says some celebrities are just full of themselves and will say anything to make you like them. He apparently thinks I’m influenced easily.
My name is Paz Hope Jackson. Paz (pronounced Pahs) means peace in Spanish. In the beginning I hated my name, but I’ve grown to like it. I appreciate my odd name.
I was born on March 7, 1974 to two teenagers by the names of Laura Maria Solliz and Michael Joseph Jackson. Both my parents were only 16 when they became parents. The sad part is though, my mother had complications giving birth. She lost a lot of blood, and then lost her life. Till this day I have yet to know much about her. I only have one picture that I have to keep in secret. My father doesn’t like to talk about her, so I never bring her up. The one time I did he completely gave me the cold shoulder. I understand it’s hard for him. He had to raise me without a mother. He just had the help of his family since my mother’s family gave up contact with the Jackson’s, but I still want to know more than her name. I’m still waiting for that perfect moment to bring her up.
I’m 14 now, so that makes it 1988. Not many things have changed. I’m still living at home were my father lives with his parents. I love this house. I’ve literally grown up here since I don’t go out much. I’m home schooled and the only kids I play with are my aunt and uncles’ children, but it’s not the same as going to a regular school and interacting with other kids.
And of course my father was gone… again! I get he has to work, but he could take a break once in a while. Not even James Brown or Fred Astaire worked this hard. He’s already an icon. How much more of a legacy can you leave? Years from now he’ll still be remembered as the ‘King of Pop’. whatever that means, cause in his music he has pretty much every genre. He did country with Paul McCartney in The Girl is Mine! “The doggone girl is mine” that’s country right? Then he did rock with Beat it. He has power ballads. Jazz songs. He’s done it all already! What more is there?
I may come off selfish, but ever since I was little he’s been living in recording studios. I love my father, I truly do. He’s the only parent I know, but, I could moonwalk before I could walk people!
It seems the bigger he gets, the smaller I get.
Sometimes I go months without seeing him. He could at least call. Right? When I was about 5 he would call all the time! He would sing to me whenever I couldn’t sleep. But now he doesn’t do that. I’ve tried talking to him, but there is always an interruption that happens in between.
Well my middle name wouldn’t be hope if I didn’t have any. I know he loves me. I’m his only daughter for goodness sake!
Just wish he’d show it more often…
When I woke up I could have sworn I heard my father’s voice coming from downstairs. So I got out of bed a fast as possible and went running downstairs. But to my disappointment it was him… on TV.
My uncle Randy was watching another interview he was doing, or did.
“Morning Paz” my grandmother said from behind me. She was in the kitchen making breakfast.
“Morning” you could clearly hear the disappointment in my voice.
“What’s the matter honey?” she asked stopping her hand from mixing the pancake batter.
“Oh you know, the same old thing” she was use to this. And she didn’t like it. She was ok with me, she just didn’t like the fact that my father, her son, hardly spent time with me.
“I know baby girl. You hungry?” she asked changing the subject.
“Are they blueberry?” I asked giving her a smile.
“Yes they are”
“Then yeah I’m starving” she smiled back and continued what she was doing.
While I was eating the house phone rang, and I got off my seat to answer it. Hoping it was dad.
“Hello!” I had this big smile plastered on my face.
“Is Randy there?” my smile immediately faded and I let out a puff of air.
“Yes, hold on” I went over to my uncle and told him to answer the phone.
“Oh honey, smile for me. I hate seeing you pout” my grandmother said.
“He hasn’t called me in a week! I know I’m not that tall but come on. I can’t be invisible” I waved my arms around. “You can see me right?” I asked her.
She just started laughing.
“Grams this is serious.” I said trying not to laugh, but hers was contagious.
“I know sweetie. And no you are not invisible. I can see you, and your daddy can as well. He’s just busy baby girl” she came over to give me a hug. “If he doesn’t call you by tonight, he’ll be getting an earful from me” she said.
“Now go on, get dressed. Your tutor will be here soon”
“Oh yes, the wonderful tutor. Why couldn’t he get me a young and handsome man, not some grumpy old fellow who probably only gets out of the house to tutor me” I told her.
“He’s good. And you’re learning right?”
“I’ve learned more on my own grams”
“Ok you, go on”
When I got back downstairs Mr. Carter was already here.
“Good morning Pez” he said.
“Paz. P - A - Z” I told him for the hundredth time. Nearly a year with this man and he still gets my name wrong. It’s only 3 letters! How hard is that?
“Sorry.” he said. I would have said something smart, but I wanted to get this man out of here as fast as possible
I walked over to the desk area that was set up and pulled out my notebook.
“Now were did we leave off yesterday?” isn’t he suppose to know that? He is the teacher!
“Well sir I believe we left off with Algebra. I was learning how to multiply polynomials” I said knowing he’d catch the sarcasm in my voice.
“Right. Turn to page 182 in your book, and do problems 1-25”
I guessed on everything. Not because I don’t know this stuff. I do. I would pass all of this before a senior graduates. I just wanted him out. It was Friday so a whole weekend without this man.
“Done” I said closing the book.
“Mr. Carter, have you forgotten I’m a genius?”
“Right” Right, RIGHT! That’s his favorite word. And he says it like it’s the longest word out there. Righhhhhtttttttttttttttttttttt……………
“Did you finish the book?”
“Yep. Finished it the first day you gave it to me” that was a trait I got from my dad. I loved to read. You could give me a book and I won’t put it down until I finish it.
“I have a feeling you don’t want me here?” Bingo!
“Why sir, what on earth gave you that idea?” I asked putting my hand over my heart.
“Paz!” I heard my grandmother’s voice say as she passed by.
“I’ll go, but not cause you want me to, but because we’re done for the day”
“I’ll walk you to the door” I said a little to excited.
“See you Monday”
“Have a good weekend” I said waving and shut the door.
“Were do you get that smart mouth from child?” grams asked.
“I don’t know” I said shrugging my shoulders.
I like to think I get it from my mother, but I may never know. Maybe she always got in trouble for her smart mouth like I do.
“So who is coming over today?”
“What makes you think someone is coming over?”
“Because we have a huge family, and none can stay away for too long” “With the exception of one” I whispered that last part.
“To your surprise no one is coming over today”
I looked at her is disbelief. That was a first!
“So I’m stuck here all alone?”
“You have me honey, and you can always go outside to the yard”
“And do what? I have no friends, and I’m not aloud to go anywhere but this home. You know sometimes I feel like I’m being punished for life”
I started my way up the stairs. “Why couldn’t my dad be a repair man or something?” I asked causing her to laugh.
When I got to my room I kept staring at the little piece of paper that had 7 numbers written on it.
I was contemplating if I should call. Even though I knew the possibilities of him not answering is greater than him answering. But it doesn’t hurt to try. Right?
I dialed the number and waited for the first ring. Second. Third. Fourth. Then the fifth and I heard his voice. “Hi this is Michael Jackson. I’m sorry I missed your call, but please leave your name and message after the beep”
“Hi daddy. It’s me again. Just here being bored wondering why you haven’t called. And when you’re coming home. Love you daddy, bye”
I have a box full of numbers. Each time he changed it depending on what hotel he was at. He was kind enough to leave his number. If only he’d answer the darn phone though!
I didn’t even realize how long I was in my room until my grandmother knocked on the door telling me that dinner was ready.
“Hi grandpa” I told him. He looked away from the papers on the table to greet me.
“No luck honey?” grams asked.
“I tried calling him, but nothing. Why does he give me a number if he’s never going to answer. What if it was an emergency and we can’t reach him? What then?”
“That child Joe. What does he think, that when he leaves this house he has no daughter?” she asked him.
“He’s just hard at work. You understand that, right Paz?”
I did understand, but what I didn’t was why he couldn’t press pause on his work life and press play on his home life. On his daughter.
I finished my dinner, washed my plate and headed back upstairs.
I took out my poem book and started looking at the titles.
“Apart” “Comfortless” “Secluded” “Isolated”
“Wow I’m a depressed kid” I told myself.
My thoughts were interrupted by the phone on my bedside ringing.
“Hello?” I asked.
“Paz” my eyes lid up and smile grew on my face.

Paris Jackson, the daughter of deceased singer Michael Jackson, was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a possible suicide attempt, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ, the 15-year-old was transported to the hospital from the family's Calabasas, Calif., home at approximately 2 a.m. after a 911 call was placed.
Bing: More on Michael Jackson's children
TMZ reports that the 911 caller reported a possible overdose, but also cites a source stating that there were cuts on one of Jackson's wrists.
TMZ says that Jackson is currently "doing OK."
Debbie Rowe, Jackson's mother, confirmed the hospitalization report to Entertainment Tonight, and said Jackson has had "a lot going on [lately]."
LA County Fire confirms that they received a 911 call for an overdose at 1:15 a.m. and one person was transported to hospital.
The reported hospitalization comes after Jackson tweeted a couple of curious messages early Wednesday morning.
"I wonder why tears are salty?" Jackson pondered in one message.
In another, she quoted the Beatles classic "Yesterday," writing, "Yesterday , all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay."
On Tuesday, Paris Jackson also tweeted that she was interested in taking up the starring role of "Doctor Who," which Matt Smith, who currently occupies the role, will abandon later this year.
"OMG i wanna be The Doctor," Jackson tweeted, "they said any age & gender, right?"
The reported incident occurred while a wrongful death trial plays out in the courts. Katherine Jackson, mother of Michael Jackson, alleges that AEG Live played a role in the singer's 2009 death by hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to care for Jackson in the run-up to the singer's planned comeback concerts.
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011, after a jury found that he was responsible for Jackson's death for improperly giving the singer propofol.

Michael’s Dream Foundation is a genuine grass-roots initiative started by people from all over the world who want to make a real difference in the lives of sick children by helping them to recover from illness and injury in as short a time as possible. Poor emotional health can weaken a body’s immune system, which not only increases the chances of becoming ill, but can also lengthen an existing period of illness. This is true for adults and children alike, but can be more extreme in children because of their naturally fragile emotional state.
One of our goals is to provide as many children’s hospitals, general hospitals and other medical facilities as possible with a permanent space full of toys, games and entertainment aimed at improving the overall emotional health and well-being of sick and injured children in residence. Because we are aware that many facilities will not have the required physical space or resources available already to achieve this, our organization intends on providing them everything they need to implement such a program. Michael’s Dream Foundation will fund and coordinate the designing, planning and building of additions or renovations for these facilities to provide everything the existing personnel will need. The new space will also be designed especially with the bed-ridden children in mind, so they also can leave their rooms and participate in all the games and social activities.
Of course, all great dreams must be reached by taking steps, and we know that we do not yet have the experience or financial backing to undertake any large construction projects, so we will be starting a little bit smaller. It is crucial for Michael's Dream Foundation to begin charity work as soon as possible, which is in line with our ultimate goals, and that is what we plan to do. Keep an eye on our News Blog Roll and Campaigns page here for news and updates regarding these "smaller steps".
Once we have gained experience in the charity realm, have completed one or more renovation and addition projects, and secured ourselves a recognizable name in the non-profit community and around the world, our largest and ultimate goal will be to raise the capital needed to build a brand new children's hospital from the ground up.
Accomplishing these goals will require the aid and support of many individuals and groups, from many different professions and specialties; therefore we are actively seeking support from individuals, groups and organizations who are also passionate and dedicated to helping children. All new companies, whether for profit or non-profit, need seed money to "oil the wheels" so to speak, and because this is a grassroots initiative made up of every-day working volunteers, we need the help of outside sources to get our footing. We encourage ideas and suggestions of all kinds!
Do you want to get involved and help Michael's Dream become a reality? If so contact Kerry, email email@example.com
Do you have a website and want to become link partners with us? If so contact Lisa-Marie, email firstname.lastname@example.org

There's nothing that can't be done if we raise our voices as one! His dream is in our hands now <3

Taking her spot on the sideline on Tuesday at Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California, Paris was seen in her full cheerleading uniform as she danced around the gymnasium.
The 14-year-old shook her pom-poms in the air as she encouraged team spirit alongside her fellow members of the Buckley squad.
Teaming her black and red uniform with a long sleeved back polo neck, Paris completed her look with a pair of white Nike trainers.
Sitting on the bench as her school took on San Gabriel Academy in the basketball match, Paris was seen cheering the players on.
Unfortunately Paris and the other cheerleaders' chants were not enough as Buckley ended up losing the match by just two points.
Once the game was over, Paris was seen holding her gym bag as she chatted with another member of the squad.
It was recently reported that Paris won over the approval of the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles' director of cheerleading, Barbara Zaun.
According to TMZ, after viewing footage of Paris cheering on her Buckley school’s boys basketball team last week, she gushed: 'We think Paris will make a great Eagle cheerleader!'
'We thought that she had a lot of poise, confidence, and enthusiasm in her cheer performance.'
Barbara continued: 'Paris has that "wow factor'"that makes a great cheerleader.'
However one obstacle does stand in Paris' way - she has to be at least 18-years-old and have a high school diploma in order to be part of the team.
But that doesn't stop Barbara from the early anticipation, with Ms Zaun saying: 'She is already very comfortable in the limelight, so we think she would definitely stand out and impress the judges ... We hope that she will try out for the team and be an Eagles cheerleader!'
The seventh grader's transition to becoming a popular cheerleader comes after Paris last year described herself as an outsider who loves rock and roll.
